List of Resources

Of course, before conducting a class, the teacher has prepared all the material that will be taught in class. The material most likely requires a resource that is used to develop the teaching materials they will use then, where do the teachers get the best and most trusted sources that they can use in order to compose interesting material for their students. So, I will give you some recommendations.

Cambridge English

The first website that I recommend to you is Cambridge English, who doesn’t know this name. I think all of the English learners and teachers have already known. If you think Cambridge just publish a book related to English, can be confirmed you must be left behind the information. So, I will give you an interesting thing. This site will help you, especially for teachers because there is a menu “Support for teacher” that contain resources to assist you to teach English online and support you and your learners during Covid-19. Sounds great, right? But this website doesn’t only address the teacher, also if you are still the student you can access this too. And the good news is it’s free.

British Council

The next website is British Council, for your information The British Council is the UK’ international organisation put their concern in educational opportunities and cultural relations. This organisation creates international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and builds trust worldwide. Next, same as the previous website it’s also provides the article that can you read for free related to English.

JET (Journal of English Teaching)

Different from those two, this kind of website only a place to publish the journal article related to English teaching. But I think this good resource too because you as a teacher can find a lot of literature to increase the insight toward education. Maybe if you confused about what the appropriate media to teach for example just search in the search box with the right keyword then, in the seconds the website will suggest you a bunch of journal or research based on the keyword.

ESL Pod

A resource is not only in the form of writing but there is also a package in the form of sound. Like podcasts that can be an alternative resource other than what I mentioned earlier. If you feel bored with websites that only contain text, you can choose podcasts. In this discussion, we are more focused on the ESL Pod, it's a fantastic resource for anyone who wants to improve their English. Because both hosts in the podcast have PhDs in Applied Linguistics. For your info, this podcast has produced more than 900 episodes.

BBC Learning English

The last recommendation for you is BBC Learning English. This is also a website that can be accessed for free with a very simple and easy-to-understand interface. It contains various menus that you can click on based on your needs. I think both teachers and students should access this site. BBC Learning English has many advantages, apart from being free, that is, there are student levels to choose from, from basic to advanced. Then, the learning videos provided are very interesting and easy to understand
