In this modern era, who doesn’t
listen to the podcast on their gadget even just once. It’s very popular with
young to old people. But if you don’t know what it is. I will explain it to
you. The podcast is a digital audio file made available on the internet for
downloading to a computer or mobile device typically available as a series at
first. Fun fact, the podcast is the acronym for iPod and broadcasting. It has
similarities with the radio because broadcast in the form of audio or sound.
However, this trend has changed. A lot of content creators produce a podcast in
the form of video. So, the video contains two-person or more doing a
conversation talk and discuss anything.
Nevertheless, in this writing, I
put more focus on educational purposes instead of in general. Ok, will continue
the discussion. The purpose of using podcasts in teaching and learning English
is to teach the students about listening and speaking skills. In my opinion,
this media is good to enhance the ability of the learner to study more because
the activity of teaching doesn’t monotonous just listening to the teacher only.
Then, for the tool to make a podcast you just need the recorder, a smartphone
is enough. After doing a recording you can edit the audio first with the
software, I suggest using Audacity it’s free the editing stage is
optional. There are many platforms for uploading the result of your recordings
like Soundcloud or Spotify.
