Another tool to teach the English learner is the timeline. Based on Wikipedia a timeline is a display of a list of events in chronological order it’s not just to present a past event or history it can also use other text forms. It’s typically a graphic design showing a long bar labelled with dates paralleling it, and usually contemporaneous events. Usually, this thing used to reinforce the understanding of the student after reading the material another benefit is to help the learners with a visual learning style. There are many ways to create a timeline, but I prefer to use two websites, they are Tiki-Toki and Preceden. And this is the example timeline that was created by me.
As usual, I put the video as a guide for you to make a timeline.
In addition, if you are the teacher, I want to give you a suggestion on how to use the timeline to support English teaching. For instance, you can tell your students to create a timeline of their life start from the past ‘till the future I think this kind of activity can be interesting for the student because the context is related for them. The learner also can draw their future life as a bucket list maybe. But, before that, the teacher has to give the student the format or example with their own timeline first. Lastly, hopefully, this post is beneficial to you and thank you for coming.
